The Columbus Youth Jazz Summer Workshop returns this summer! Join us for a summer of music-making with 3 weeks of Instrumental Jazz and a week of Vocal Jazz. Each camp is a perfect blend of fun and learning, led by our renowned faculty teaching artists.
During camp you’ll meet new peers from around Columbus who love playing jazz music and learning new songs together, just like you. Each week will be new and different so we encourage you to sign up for as many as you’re able to attend! This camp is open to students in grades 7-12, including graduating class of 2025.
Instrumental Jazz Camp
Week 1: June 9-13, 2025
Week 2: June 16-20, 2025**
Week 3: July 7-11, 2025**
Monday through Friday | 12:00 – 3:00 PM
Tuition: $150 per week
**PLEASE NOTE: At this time, Week 2 of the Instrumental Jazz Camp (June 16-20) is at maximum capacity for all woodwind and brass instruments (Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Flute, etc). We are only accepting Week 2 registrations for the following: Piano, Guitar, Bass, Drums.
Additionally, Week 3 (July 7-11) is at maximum capacity for piano and drums. All other instruments in Week 3 are still accepting registrations.
If you love playing an instrument with friends or in a band, the Instrumental Jazz Camps are the place to be this summer! These camps perfectly blend together a fun, welcoming environment to spend your afternoon alongside a place to grow and push your musical boundaries. During the Instrumental Jazz Camp, you will develop skills such as:
– How to learn a jazz song
– How to improvise
– Technique on your instrument
– Creating an original arrangement
Each week will explore new composers, songs, and styles. At the end of each week, we will have a public final concert to put our newly learned skills to the test.
Tuition for each week is $150 per student and payment must be received to reserve your spot in the program. Attendance each week is limited and will be filled on a first-come first-serve basis, with certain seats reserved based on instrumentation.

Vocal Jazz Camp
Vocal Camp: July 14-18, 2025
Monday through Friday | 12:00 – 4:00 PM
Tuition: $150 per week
Do you sing in choir, musical theatre, play an instrument or simply LOVE to sing? The Vocal Jazz Camp is here to bring out your inner voice! This week-long in-person workshop will provide vocalists the opportunity to explore the ins and outs of jazz singing, including style, improvisation and vocal technique through a series of masterclasses, listening sessions and private lessons.
Each day, students will sing solo with a band and with each other in a vocal jazz ensemble. Listening sessions will focus on sensational jazz singers, such as Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Frank Sinatra, and singers who were influenced by jazz, like Aretha Franklin and Etta James! This camp is open to students in grades 7-12.
Tuition is $150 per student and payment must be received to reserve your spot in the program. Attendance each week is limited and will be filled on a first-come first-serve basis.
