Improvisation is so much more than “making it up on the spot.” On Monday, June 22nd, Columbus Youth Jazz Artistic Director, Mark Donavan, will show you his method to creating an effective and creative solo, along with tips and tricks to find your voice through your instrument.

On Masterclass Mondays, Jazz Academy teaching artists will give you tips and inspiration for your summer music practice. With a new host and topic each week, this series will expand your knowledge base and abilities in a fun and creative way.

The cost for Masterclass Mondays and Tunes on Tuesdays is “Pay What You Can”. In these times, we understand how the current pandemic could be creating a financial strain for you and your family. Please “pay what you can”, as we will not allow cost to be a barrier for participation in our virtual programming. Each four-week program is valued at $40 per participant. What you choose to pay will help us compensate our teaching artists for their time and effort.
