Do you sing in choir, musical theatre, play an instrument or simply LOVE to sing? The Jazz Academy is here to bring out your inner voice! The Jazz Academy Vocal Workshop is a week-long in-person workshop will provide vocalists the opportunity to explore the ins and outs of jazz singing, including style, improvisation and vocal technique through a series of masterclasses, listening sessions and private lessons. Each day, students will sing solo with a band and with each other in a vocal jazz ensemble. Listening sessions will focus on the sensational jazz singers, such as Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Frank Sinatra, and singers who were influenced by jazz, like Aretha Franklin and Etta James!

For middle and high schools students interested in developing their jazz voice, no experience necessary.

During each session, we will be strictly adhering to CDC guidelines for COVID-19 safety, including masks and social distancing. Read more about our COVID procedures HERE.

Attendance is limited due to social distancing restrictions and will be filled on a first-come first-serve basis. Tuition for each week is $125 per student and payment must be received to reserve your spot in the program. Need-based scholarships are available upon request to the education department.
