The cost for this program is “Pay What You Can”. In these times, we understand how the current pandemic could be creating a financial strain for you and your family. Please “pay what you can”, as we will not allow cost to be a barrier for participation in our virtual programming. This five-day program is valued at $125 per participant. What you choose to pay will help us compensate our teaching artists for their time and effort. Please enter the total amount that you wish to be charged in the registration form.
The Columbus Youth Jazz Summer Workshop is an excellent opportunity for instrumentalists of all ability levels to hone their skills in the jazz language – improvisation, style, repertoire and technique. This summer will be no different as we continue to explore new ways to practice and perform both as a group and individually. Youth Jazz faculty Zach Compston, Mark Donavan and some of Columbus’ finest instructors will host master classes and listening sessions designed to engage students in a deeper connection with their instrument.
We will also feature special guests from the Columbus Jazz Orchestra.
The Columbus Youth Jazz Summer Workshop has been rescheduled for Summer 2020, now being held the week of July 27th. With the ever changing landscape surrounding COVID-19, we are making plans for virtual, in-person, and hybrid programming, and are committed to putting on an exciting camp for young musicians. We will provide a final update to the camp schedule by mid July.
Please note that the third-party platform, Zoom, will be used for this camp experience. If this creates a barrier to participate for you, please let us know by emailing education@jazzartsgroup.org.
