The Jazz Academy Jam Sessions are a community-focused, curated jam session series held the second Tuesday of each month in the Jazz Academy October 2022-May 2023. Jazz musicians of all ages and experience levels are invited to participate in the jam. Each session will have a theme with a list of tunes that will be drawn from.

This jam session will be co-led by vocalist Rachel Azbell and trombonist Linda Landis and will feature standards and Great American Songbook tunes composed or made famous by female jazz musicians.
Participants will learn the ins and outs of small-group jamming, including tools for band leading and successful improvisation. Led by some of Columbus’ finest musicians, the Jazz Academy Jam Sessions are an inclusive, engaging jam environment for all. We also invite non-musicians to come participate as audience members of the jam.
