Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Kevin began playing guitar at the age of 9. He was trained as a jazz guitarist but spent an equal amount of time playing in the pop genre.

Kevin has performed, recorded and/or toured alongside a number of artists including Diane Schuur, Destiny’s Child, Dr. John, and Lalah Hathaway.

He currently tours and records with Grammy award-winning saxophonist Kirk Whalum and is the professor of jazz guitar at The Ohio State University.

“Since I started playing, I’ve always been fascinated with all the different sounds that can be made on the guitar. Although I hear a variety of sounds in my imagination, I believe that I hear them through the lens of soul music.”
