COVID -19 Cancellations and Postponements

COLUMBUS JAZZ ORCHESTRA PERFORMANCES & JAZZ ARTS GROUP PRESENTATIONS CANCELED OR POSTPONED FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE 2019-2020 SEASON

We regret to announce that the Jazz Arts Group/Columbus Jazz Orchestra has canceled or postponed performances and presentations for the remainder of the 2019–20 season.

“Speakeasy Hot Jazz” – Cancelled
“Melissa Aldana Quartet” – Postponed
“Soul Time Machine: From Cab Calloway to Little Richard” – Postponed

The venues in which we perform – the Southern Theatre and the Lincoln Theatre – have been closed by CAPA through at least mid-May in compliance with Governor Dewine’s executive order. The Jazz Arts Group’s concert season was to have concluded April 26, 2020.

This was a difficult decision, but one made for the safety and well-being of our audiences, musicians, staff, volunteers, and board.

“What If I Have Tickets?”

If you have or had tickets for the March or April performances, here’s what you can do:

  • DONATE YOUR TICKETS: Support the Jazz Arts Group by not requesting a refund but rather donating the value of your tickets. We would be extremely grateful for your show of support through these financially difficult times. Donating the value of your ticket is a tax-deductible contribution.
  • KEEP YOUR TICKETS: If you have a ticket for either of the postponed April concerts, you can retain your seats by holding on to your tickets until the concert is rescheduled. (Please note that our ability to reschedule concerts is largely dependent on the extent of COVID-19 restrictions and guest artist availability.) If the concert cannot ultimately be rescheduled or you cannot attend the rescheduled date, you will have the opportunity again to choose donation, future credit, or refund.
  • RECEIVE FUTURE CREDIT: Convert your purchase into a credit toward individual tickets or subscriptions for the 2020-2021 season. Credits can be used for the “Swingin’ with the CJO” series at the Southern Theatre, or the “Jazz at the Lincoln Theatre” concert series. The new season will be announced shortly and you will be moved to the front of the line to make reservations before tickets go on sale to the general public.
  • REFUND: Request a full refund to your original method of payment via the CBUSArts Ticket Center. You may also donate a portion of your refund to JAG to show your support!

“Is There a Deadline to Decide?”

YES! Please communicate your decisions regarding donation, future credit, or refund by Thursday, April 30, 2020.
