Saxophonist and composer, Pete Mills is currently Program Director for Jazz Arts Group Presents and a member of the saxophone section of The Columbus Jazz Orchestra. His discography includes 4 releases as a leader with the most recent, Sweet Shadow (Cellar Live Records) featuring Matt Wilson, Pete McCann, Martin Wind and Erik Augis. A native of Toronto Canada, Mills has received grants from The Canada Council and was a recipient of the North Carolina Arts Council Jazz Composer’s Fellowship. As a sideman he appears on over a dozen CDs including those by The Columbus Jazz Orchestra, guitarist Stan Smith, saxophonist Chad Eby, the eclectic ensemble Madrugada and The Cleveland and Paul Ferguson Jazz Orchestras. Mills performs regularly throughout the U.S and Canada and holds degrees from the Eastman School of Music and The University of North Texas. In addition to performing and JAG Presents duties, Mills teaches jazz studies courses at Denison University.
