Marketing Coordinator
Mercedes Aviles grew up in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, and began playing violin at age 8. After years of classical training, she discovered her passion for contemporary performance. She has a Bachelor of Music in Contemporary Writing & Production from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. After graduating she honed her project management skills at Antfood, an award winning music production company based in Brooklyn, NY.
Mercedes performs as a looping singer-songwriter, and uses this medium to not only put on solo performances, but also hosts workshops for aspiring musicians. In addition to this work, she regularly records and performs violin and vocals with the local band Mungbean, chamber orchestras, and quartets. Her performances have also been featured on major boradcast commercials, and in local programs such as WOSU’s “Broad and High” series.
