In the 1920s, the tune “Hotter Than That” was penned by the brilliant Lil Hardin Armstrong—a trailblazing composer, bandleader, and one of jazz’s earliest stars. This high-energy concert pays tribute to her and the groundbreaking women who’ve defined, expanded, and elevated the art form.
Join bass virtuoso Nicki Parrott, saxophone sensation Erena Terakubo and the CJO for a night of bold solos, powerhouse compositions, and genre-defying performances. It’s not just a concert. It’s a celebration of creativity, courage, and the future of jazz—led by those who’ve been turning up the heat from the very start.
Our Sunday Matinee performance features an opening act starting at 2:00 p.m. by students from the Columbus Youth Jazz Program.

Fan of last minute plans? Don’t worry, we have you covered. Our box office opens 2 hours before each show opens at the theatre where you can purchase tickets the night of each show. Please keep in mind that your seats will be subject to availability.
Student tickets become available starting 2 hours before the concert for $15.00 at the venue’s box office with Student ID. Limit of one (1) ticket per Student ID.
