Where is the Jazz Academy located?

• The Jazz Academy is located on the 4th floor of the historic Lincoln Theatre complex, 769 E. Long Street, in the King-Lincoln District of Columbus. Parking is available directly next to the theatre, across the street in the Gateway parking lot, or on the street. Parking is free. Enter through the double red doors with the Jazz Academy logo and either ride the elevator or climb the stairs to the 4th floor. Click for directions to the Jazz Academy.

Community Partners

• Reduced fees are for the Jazz Academy’s community partners: subscribers to the Columbus Jazz Orchestra; JAG’s Youth Jazz program participants; employees of Abercrombie & Fitch, Cardinal Health, Columbus Dispatch/10TV, Grange Insurance, Limited Brands, Merrill Lynch, Nationwide, PNC Financial Services Group, Sequent and the State Auto Group; students and faculty of Capital University and Columbus State Community College; and members of the Columbus Blues Alliance (CBA), Columbus Council on World Affairs (CCWA), Columbus Music Co-op, King Arts Complex, Swing Columbus, TiXiT, WCBE 90.5FM, WOSU Public Media, and United Way of Central Ohio’s Young Leadership Group, Key Club and Cinquefoil.

Minimum Registration Requirements

• Offered classes have minimum registration requirements. If a class has not met its minimum registration by its deadline, it will be cancelled. However, if a class has met the minimum, registration will continue past the deadline until the class is full. Always check to see if a class is available, even if the registration deadline has passed by calling 614.294.5200 x 107.

Scholarship Information

• Scholarship information is available by calling 614.294.5200 x 107 – there is no on-line registration for registrations with awarded scholarship dollars.

Bad Weather Policy

• Jazz Academy classes will cancel automatically if Columbus City Schools closes due to weather. We will make every effort to notify registrants if the Jazz Academy closes via either email or phone. You can also check class status by calling 614.719.6758. We will try to post updates at least one hour prior to any class start time regarding cancellations.
