FLIPPO the band is the brain child of bass virtuoso Andy Woodson and is dedicated to playing Jazz Rock Fusion made popular in the 1970’s by such artists as Weather Report, Herbie Hancock, Billy Cobham and others. The members are Michael Cox, saxophones, Dennis Hodges, guitar, Erik Augis, keyboards, Andy Woodson, bass and Louis Tsamous, drums.
In addition to its core material the group often adds guest vocalists and performs themed shows by Joni Mitchell, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye and Steely Dan.
While debate rages over the band’s music, and its members’ troubled love-hate relationship with all things clown like, one thing is certain: a FLIPPO gig is the only clinically tested remedy for chronic overexposure to modern culture… you will laugh, love, cry, and maybe even learn to believe again.
