Jim Powell – Trumpet
Trumpeter Jim Powell is a native of Columbus, OH. A graduate of The Ohio State University, Jim has also done graduate work at the University of North Texas. He has played in the big bands of Buddy Rich and Woody Herman, and played a weekly gig at the Village Vanguard in New York City with the Mel Lewis Big Band. He now plays regularly with the Columbus Jazz Orchestra, and also plays locally with artists including Jim Masters, Dave Powers, and Mark Flugge.
