Mark Flugge is active in the central Ohio area as a pianist, composer, educator, and bandleader. His first CD as a leader, the self-produced February’s Promise, features all original compositions and is receiving much critical acclaim.
Flugge has worked with such greats as Jimmy Heath, Marcus Belgrave, Ken Peplowski, Gene Bertoncini, Byron Stripling and Ira Sullivan, among many others.
Currently the head of the jazz/contemporary piano curriculum at Capital University, Flugge formerly taught at the Eastman School of Music. Flugge earned his Master’s Degree at the Eastman School of Music in 1994.
